Hi there, I'm Samantha. I've been cosplaying for about 9 years, and mainly attend conventions in central Florida.

I work for Imaginarium, LLC and serve as their cosplay events coordinator for Tampa Bay Comic Con, Orlando Comic Expo, Nashville Comic Expo and possibly more events in the future!

Although I do not purport to be an expert in making things, I am more than happy to answer any cosplay/crafting questions you may have.

I was recently asked by Imaginarium to make a Fanpage, and if you want, you can like it here. However, this Tumblr is the best way to keep up with my antics, unless you want to actually add my personal profile on Facebook. I'm not shy about adding friends there so feel free to send me a request IF we have met or at least have mutual friends: "Samantha Petrone"

My Better Half

Wait, what? No! This isn’t a silly question! It’s a great question!
But the answer is…like the moment you leave the womb?
Okay so hear me out! I think it’s totally cool to dress your newborn in a knitted Yoda or Ewok getup! And kids cosplaying is literally like the cutest thing ever! I just love seeing a little baby wearing a Captain America onesie while their costume-clad parents push them in a stroller around the con. As long as you are taking care of your child and not harming them, go for it!
Now at the point when your child becomes able to make decisions on their own, or at least state their preferences, for Chuck’s sake, /listen/! If your kid isn’t comfortable in a costume, don’t force them! Some kids are shy and that’s okay! Let them be content wearing a Spider-man tee while his mom rocks that Wonder Woman getup. And if your little girl wants to be Darth Vader? You freaking let her! If your little boy wants to be Sleeping Beauty, you friggin’ ask him BLUE OR PINK DRESS, darling?
I was a very precocious and outgoing little girl, and I loved dressing up. That happened to follow me as I got older, and became a hobby in cosplay. It’s not for every kid…but there’s a lot of family togetherness that can come from all dressing up as your favorite characters. The most important thing is that everyone has fun, age doesn’t matter :)
